Thermo Scientific Glacios Cryo-TEM

Description

Glacios TEM is a cryogenic platform with a 200kV X-FEG electron source, a refinement of Schottky-type field emission electron that features high beam brightness and ultra-stable beam current. The specimen autoloader offers automatic sample exchange within a maximum capacity of 12 sample grids. This cryogenic sample manipulation robot allows for batch screening of multiple samples freezing conditions and subsequent automatic data acquisition on a Gatan K3 direct electron detector. Both EPU and SerialEM software packages are installed to facilitate the automatic acquisition of large cryo-EM data sets.

Compatible Holders:

Cryo-autoloading cassettes, containing a maximum of 12 grids

Gatan K3 Summit camera is installed on the Glacios to record the low-dose images at electron counting mode. K3 camera carries a large collection area (5760 x 4092 pixels) and a fast collection rate at 1500 frames per second. The ability of the inline signal process in the K3 camera increases its detective quantum efficiency and allows for on-site motion correction.

Thermo Scientific Ceta camera employs a 6 x 6 cm2, 4k x 4K CMOS sensor with 14 microns in pixel size. Ceta camera delivers fast readout speed that enables the recording of 4k x 4k movies at 40 frames per second or 512 x 512 movies at 320 frames per second.
