Thermo Scientific iCAP™ RQ Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) with Teledyne Laser Ablation (LA) System

Description

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is an elemental analysis technology capable of detecting most of the periodic table of elements at milligram to nanogram levels per liter. It is used in a variety of industries including, but not limited to, environmental monitoring, geochemical analysis, metallurgy, pharmaceutical analysis, and clinical research.

The Thermo Scientific™ iCAP™ RQ single quadrupole (SQ) ICP-MS combines high accuracy, low detection limits, and streamlined measurement protocol with a much-simplified software user interface. The Qtegra™ ISDS Software manages entire workflows from ‘Get Ready’ to data reporting. The autosampler enables 24/7 sample analysis for advanced applications in research.

The laser ablation solid sample introduction system from Teledyne includes a 193 nm laser for application in most fields. it allows for direct solid sample measurements bypassing the potential burden and complication when performing sample digestion. Elemental surface profiling is also available for 2D visualization.

Acceptable Sample Forms

Solution Introduction ICP-MS: Solution Sample in 1% Nitric Acid

Laser Introduction ICP-MS: Thin-film samples (with smooth surfaces) on microscope slides
