The University of California, Irvine (UCI) Materials Research Institute (IMRI) is excited to announce the 5th International Symposium on Advanced Microscopy and Spectroscopy (ISAMS-6), to be held in person on TBA 2024. This year’s symposium will bring together experts from academia, industry, and national labs to share the latest research results and ideas, and to address challenges in the development of atomic-scale imaging and spectroscopy for advancing materials and biological sciences. The topics will be announced soon.

Following ISAMS-6, UCI IMRI will host the UCI School of Transmission Electron Microscopy (UCI STEM) TBA, 2024. This school will provide participants with a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field and develop new skills in 4D STEM, spectroscopy, and in situ TEM. Participants will learn about the latest techniques and tools to advance their research and collaborate with other researchers in the field.

IMRI is an interdisciplinary special research program under the Office of Research, and a key enabler of the Center for Complex and Active Materials (CCAM) – a Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2020. IMRI operates a wide range of state-of-the-art shared facilities for the analysis and characterization of materials and devices ranging from sub-Å to macroscopic length scales. The facilities are professionally staffed, convenient, and affordable, with user-friendly services.

We invite researchers, engineers, and scientists from academia, industry, and national labs to join us in person at ISAMS-6 and UCI STEM, to share recent accomplishments, enable future collaborations, and network with leading experts in the field.

A detailed program, venue information, and registration will be provided closer to the event date.

We look forward to welcoming you to UCI for ISAMS-5 and UCI STEM!
