Biography
Paul is a PhD candidate in the chemistry department at UCI studying soft matter self-assembly. He has authored and co-authored several papers making use of cryo-TEM and other various techniques. He received his BS in chemistry from Brigham Young University in 2018.
Research Interests
He uses cryo-TEM to elucidate nanoparticle morphology and formation mechanisms for various samples including block copolymers, organic supramolecular systems, liposomes, bacteria, and more. He is familiar with using the OneView and K3 cameras and the SerialEM low dose imaging software in addition to dry-state and cryogenic sample preparation. He is also familiar with organic and polymer synthesis.
